He has led offices supporting sponsored funding, developed institutional research capacity, and served in multiple leadership roles with the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), where he is a Distinguished Educator and Global Faculty member.

Ara Tahmassian

Chief Research Compliance Officer, Harvard University

Ara Tahmassian, Ph.D., is the Chief Research Compliance Officer at Harvard University, where he oversees research compliance activities across the institution. He leads efforts to integrate and coordinate compliance requirements, manage institutional committees, and develop policies that address research-related risks. Ara is also a Fulbright Specialist and an active contributor to national and international compliance initiatives.

Dave Richardson is the Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation and Director of Sponsored Programs Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With more than 30 years of experience, he has held senior roles at leading research institutions, overseeing pre- and post-award operations, compliance, and interdisciplinary initiatives. A past President of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), Dave is an active global educator and leader in advancing best practices in research administration.

Fadia Homeidan

Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts, American University of Beirut

Dr. Fadia Homeidan is the Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts at the American University of Beirut, as well as the Director of the University’s Technology Transfer Unit and Centre for Research and Innovation. She oversees programs and resources that foster entrepreneurship and innovation, supporting the growth of startups into scalable businesses. With extensive experience in research and innovation management, Dr. Homeidan has served as an expert and advisor to numerous national and international agencies and committees. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Birmingham, completed postdoctoral training at Cornell University, and has held academic positions at Cornell University, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and AUB.
